Tom Ford s/s 2014 collection review.

Anticipated as they are, all of his shows, we have all been waiting for some Tom Ford visual satisfaction as soon as possible, especially after his last womenswear collection, which provoked mixed feelings and reviews. Always true to his ideal client's taste, sex-appeal and the "wow" factor was the key to a quite interesting collection with numerous statement pieces that I personally loved!

Following the success of the Zebra gown of his last collection, a mini version of that dress was introduced, along with several new themes ranging from toned-down power-dressing to mosaic, walking pieces of art.
His leather looks, consisted of stitched mini dresses and separates in brown hues, were for me the most lavish and die-to-get of the whole show. The mosaic pieces in electric color combinations cover the wearer's body from neck to toe with glittering stone-like embellishments, while the sheer, sheath dresses reveal the body in a provocative yet "Tom Ford" Sophisticated x Sexy kind of way. Underlining his garments Mr.Genious created this season's ultimate shoes ranging from lace-up divine boots to mosaic ones and killer heels, which you can't help but adore! (just like you did with the ones Rihanna wore, teamed-up with a Katrantzou outfit).

It's true though that all these sound and seem like Rihanna's kind of way, as no woman would normally walk the street in such apparel (which to be honest is far from casual and comfortable), or wake up and decide to tie up her lace-up shoes, and when I say up I mean mid-thigh high up, for the next one hour. But despite that, which if you ask me is some creative freedom at last!! he was thoughtful enough to introduce some killer pantsuits for women and fur jackets (that I loved but reminded me a lot of Formichetti's ones for Mugler back in f/w 2011-12), making a statement about power-dressing, with rounder shoulders for the woman who wants to stand out in a more soft but twice as powerful way!

Carine Roitfeld is for sure clapping and standing as we speak and so do I to be honest, and so will and actually already does the press. Editorial coverage is on its way, but will women buy the new collection or go for some Wang simplicity instead?

It's up to you to tell!!
